ORGANIC SHAPE EFFECT TUTORIAL IN PHOTOSHOP

1. Open a new image, I used 350X550, and create a new layer. Again I used black as my background. Make your way over
to the Polygonal lasso tool and make a shape just like the one shown in the pic below. Because you are on the polygonal tool,
go and select / Modify / Smooth and set it to around five or ten. Now fill that selection in with whatever color you want.
I used an orange. Now we have the shape and color, so lets start detailing the organ thingy. Change to the Dodge tool,
Brush = 10, and Range to highlights. begin lighting tille balls all the way down your organ, try and experiment, you can
make this thing look many different ways depending on how you shade it. I showed you how the transformation is
in the screenshot below.



2. This is basically the whole technique for this organ thingy, but to make it look better you usually combine it with a
bigger design, to do that you can duplicate it and transform it. Change the layer order, really, this is all about experimenting
with the burn and dodge tools. When it comes to lighting (A very important aspect of designing and art in general.)
I cant stress enough how good these tools are. So maybe start burning it, changing the brush sizes and
range of these tools.



3. Here is what I started to do, in terms of the duplication and transforming. This method is really convenient, it looks
great, and it is really easy. And the lesson here, is that from merely the lighting you can create everything from metal styles,
to natural biological styles.



4. Here I started to really detail the design combining a bunch of things together to make a semi-detailed design.
All of the things you see in the image below where created the EXACT same way with the exact same technique. I did this to
show you the importance of this method.
